RC Joystick Setup Instructions


Initial setup and configuration of the RC Joystick Interface.

Note: If you chose to have the Ripmax RC Joystick Interface driver interface installed during installation of RC Simulator, skip to the Controller Calibration section.

Installing the driver (Windows 95/98/Me)

  1. Open Explorer and open the "drivers" folder on the RC Simulator CD-ROM. (To download the latest driver click here)
  2. Double click on the driver.exe file to start the installation.
  3. Follow the on screen instructions to install the driver.

Note: This will install the RC Joystick Interface as Joystick 1

Controller Calibration  
  1. Open ‘Game Controllers’.

  2. Select the ‘R/C Joystick Interface Game Controller’ and click ‘Properties’.

  3. Calibrate each channel by clicking ‘Set’

  4. Move the transmitter control to the minimum and maximum positions, and return it to the center.

  5. Click ‘Set’ to store.

  6. Repeat steps 3, 4 & 5 for each channel.

  7. Click ‘OK’ to finish.

Controller Setup  
  1. Open ‘Game Controllers’.

  2. Select the ‘R/C Joystick Interface Game Controller’ and click ‘Properties’.

  3. Click on the ‘Control Setup’ tab at the top of the page.

  4. Using the ‘Drop Down’ boxes match each joy-stick axis/button to the appropriate channel on your transmitter.

  5. Check the correct direction of operation for each control, and if required use the reverse button to reverse the direction.

  6. Click ‘OK’ to finish.

Important Note

Remove the crystal/module from your transmitter to ensure it does not transmit whilst using the interface.
